Title: Residual Life Expectancy Evaluation and Cost Analysis of Graded Aggregate Base Asphalt Pavement
Abstract: First,the surface deflection of the asphalt pavement which is already open to traffic for approximately 2years was tested.Then,the number of accumulated standard axle loads that the pavement can still bear was calculated with the formula given by the present specifications for design of highway asphalt pavement,accordingly to analyze the cost of pavement with graded aggregate base plus cement stabilized gravel subbase.The results show that on condition that the whole depth of the pavement not increase sharply,graded aggregate base asphalt pavement is much more cost-effective than semi-rigid base asphalt pavement,which was designed originally for all the road sections.
