Abstract:The production of L-lactic acid by engineering Escherichia coli HBUT-L was studied in 4L fermentor using corn steep liquor as organic nitrogen source and waste sugary liquor of glucose crystallization...The production of L-lactic acid by engineering Escherichia coli HBUT-L was studied in 4L fermentor using corn steep liquor as organic nitrogen source and waste sugary liquor of glucose crystallization as carbon source.It was found that HBUT-L could grow and convert glucose into L-lactic acid quickly and efficiently.Maximum lactic acid concentrations of 108.3g/L were obtained;the fermentation time was 50h and the optical purity of L-lactic acid was above 99%.The conversion ratio of glucose to acid was above 97% and the yield was 2.16g/(L·h),which was 79.7% of that of inorganic salts fermentation medium.It provides a reference for production of L-lactic acid by HBUT-L using corn steep liquor in industrial scale with reducing production costs.Read More
