Title: Protective Effect of Ginko-biloba Extract on the DNA Damage Induced by Hydroxyl Radical
Abstract: Objective: To study protective effect of EGb on DNA damage caused by hydroxyl radical. Methods: The hydroxyl radical were deleted by CuSO4-phen-VitC-H2O2 biochemiluminescence systems. And then analyzed the protective effect of EGb on DNA peroxidation damage by biochemiluminescence inhibit rate. Results: The ultra-weak chemiluminescence during DNA peroxidation induced by CuSO4-phen-VitC-H2O2-DNA were all inhibited by EGb. Conclusion: EGb possessed potent antioxidative activity and reduced peroxidation of DNA damaged by hydroxyl radicals.
