Methods: Thirty -six patients with Gartland Ⅲ supracondylar fracture of humerus were treated by open reduction after the failure of close reduction. The medial approaches were chosen for such operations. The fractures were reduced under direct vision and were fixed with two crossed Kirschner's wires. Then the elbows were flexed to 90°and immobilized with long-arm casts for 4 weeks. Results:Twenty -seven patients were followed-up for more than six months. All of them had good results except one with a cubitus varus and another had a decreased rang of motion. No infection or nerve and blood vessel damage. Conclusions:The open reduction through a medial exposure for Gartland Ⅲ supracondylar fractures in children is a direct, effective method.Read More
