Title: INHERITANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE TONGCHENG SCHOOL OF CLASSICAL THEORIES BY LIU RONG
Abstract: Liu Rong was an influential statesman and a writer in late Qing.He thought Fang Bao as authentic literature,and the Tongcheng school had a greater impact on him,but he could be inclusive of other's Strengths for his own use.At the relationship between Wen and Dao,he did not conform to Tongcheng law,advocating enrichment of Tongcheng's moral principles by economic learning.In theory,he paid attention to literary and artistic characteristics and promoted Shu Chang in the text.Therefore,his ideas were more open and practical.However,the traditional burden on Liu Rong was so heavy that it made him not find the new road in theory and creativity to adapt to modern social transformation.It was a common problem of modern writers of the Tongcheng school in process of Classical Chinese tradition transiting to modern.
