Title: Analysis on the distribution and drug resistance of 635 strains of acinetobacter baumannii
Abstract: Objective To analyse the distribution of acinetobacter baumannii and the drug resistance in patients in our hospital,so as to guide the rational use of antibiotics in clinic. Methods The distribution and drug-resistance of 635 strains of acinetobacter baumannii from patients in our hospital collected from Oct.2006 to May 2009 were studied retrospectively. Results Among 2 472 strains of nonfermentative bacteria isolated from patients in our hospital, acinetobacter baumannii covered 25.69%(635/2 472),taking second place of the nonfermentative bacteria. It was distributed mainly in ICU(51.34%),and the highest appearing rate was the sputum,up to 85.04%.Acinetobacter baumannii were very sensitive to cefoperazone/sulbactam.However,they were severely resistant to many other antimicrobial agents. There were multi-drug resistant acinetobacter baumannii in recent years. Conclusion The isolation rate of acinetobacter baumannii are increasing in recent years, and periodic survelliance should be done to learn the drug resistance and bacterial distribution, and therefore,it can instruct the clinic to use antibiotics rationally.
