Abstract:Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristic of hepatitis A and hepatitis E in Haizhu District,Guangzhou from 2004 to 2013, and provide the scientific basis for the prevention and control o...Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristic of hepatitis A and hepatitis E in Haizhu District,Guangzhou from 2004 to 2013, and provide the scientific basis for the prevention and control of hepatitis A and hepatitis E. Methods Descriptive epidemiology was performed to analyze the reported hepatitis A and hepatitis E. Results Total230 hepatitis A and 747 hepatitis E cases were reported during 2004 and 2013, and the annual average incidence rates were 1.6052 / 100 000 and 5.1435 / 100 000, respectively. No obvious cyclical and seasonal characteristics were observed, and the cases were sporadic. Male were more than female; for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E, the ratio of men to women was 1.5 to 1 and 1.85 to 1, respectively. For hepatitis A, young cases were reported, group of 25~ and 35~years old have a higher percentage, and were 12.61% and 12.17%, respectively; for hepatitis E, young and old cases were predominant,and group of 25~79 years old accounted for 88.89% of total. The distribution of occupation of both hepatitis A and hepatitis E patients showed that retired enterprise employees,housekeepers and people waiting for employment were predominant. Conclusions The incidence of hepatitis A and hepatitis E in our district showed a stable trend and remainslow. In future, it is necessary to enhance the control of hepatitis A and hepatitis E of key crowd.Read More
