Title: Efficacy of long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of moderate to severe acne complicated with post-acne erythema
Abstract: Objective To elucidate the efficacy and safety of long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser in the treatment of moderate to severe acne complicated with post-acne erythema. Methods A total of 20 cases of moderate to severe acne complicated with post-acne erythema were recruited, who were treated with long-pulsed 1 064 nm Nd: YAG laser. The laser parameters were: 25 ~ 30 J / cm2,3. 0 Hz,20 ~ 40 ms pulse duration,6. 0 mm spot size. All patients were treated once a week for 8 weeks. Pictures of acne lesions were taken and the numbers were recorded before and after treatment. Results Of all 20 cases,17 were cured, and 3 were improved. The total effective rate was 100%. The number of acne lesions was significantly reduced( P 0. 05). Meanwhile, the texture of the skin was improved, and more than 90%patients were satisfied. The treatment effect of early inflammatory lesions was better than that of acne erythema( P 0. 05). The side effect was transient erythema after treatment. Conclusions Long-pulsed 1 064 nm Nd: YAG laser is safe and effective in the treatment of moderate to severe acne with acne erythema. It is a newtherapeutic approach for acne and persistent post-acne erythema.
