Title: Historic Importance of Including into "Selected Works" the Poems by Su Wu and Li Ling
Abstract: It has been a verdict that the poems by Su Wu and Li Ling are pseudo-graph.However,when Selected Works included these poems,Xiao Tong did not see the poems by Su Wu and Li Ling as pseudo works.This is not only Xiao Tong's personal viewpoint,but the common point by main stream scholars of Han,Wei and Six Dynasties.Their points were mainly shown: firstly the poems by Su Wu and Li Ling were not considered as pseudo works at the time;and secondly,in the literary theories during Han and Wei dynasties whose characteristics is criticizing works by style,the poems by Li Ling was considered a turning point from four character lines to five character lines,and he was considered the originator of the five character line poems.Therefore,the poems by Su Wu and Li Ling,proved by textual researches as pseudo works,gave profound influence to the development of poems.The significance of Selected Works including these poems lies in the affirmation of the poems by Su Wu and Li Ling from anthology aspects as to their significance to the poem development in Han and Wei dynasties.
