Title: Influence of the Chinese Herbal Medicine on the Curative Effect of the Patients with Hepatocarcinoma after Interventional Treatment
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of interventional therapy combined with Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of primary hepatocarcinoma.Methods:Sixty-three patients were randomly divided into two groups. In the treated group 33 patients were treated with the method of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) combined with Chinese herbal medicine. The patients in control group were treated with TACE alone. The therapeutic effect, values of the wite blood cell(WBC) and the alpha fetal protein(AFP) as well as the status of the life quality of the patients were compared between the treated and control groups. Results:The treated group was significantly superior to the control group in effective rate(P0.05).In addition,in the treated group a lower incidence of side effect than in control group could be found and a higher Karnofsky score could also be observed in treated group. After treatment a significant difference in the values of WBC and AFP between two groups could also be observed. Conclusion:The method of interventional therapy combined with Chinese verbal medicine may improve the therapeutic effect of primary hepatocarcinoma more obviously than that when interventional therapy is used alone and a higher life quality may also be observed.
