Title: Synthesis of Cyclohexanone Ethylene Ketal with H_3PW_(12)O_(40)/TiO_2 as Catalyst
Abstract: The composite catalyst H_3PW_12O_40/TiO_2 was prepared. In the presence of said H_3PW_12 O_40/TiO_2 the cyclohexanone ethylene ketal was synthesized from cyclohexanone and ethylene glycol. The catalytic activity of H_3PW_12O_40 /TiO_2 in ketal reaction was discussed, and the factors such as mass ratio of ketone to glycol, dosage of catalyst and reaction time, influencing on the yield of end product were systematically investigated. Experiment results showed that the H_3PW_ 12 O_ 40 /TiO_2 was the suitable catalyst for synthesizing cyclohexanone ethylene ketal when the n(cyclohexanone)∶n(ethylene glycol)=1∶1.5, the dosage of catalyst was 0.5% based on total reactants, and the reaction time was 1h, the yield of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal can reach up 87.9%.
