Abstract:The Scroll Painting by Zhang Shengwen was once scattered into separate pictures which were later combined into a painting scroll.In the process,the pictures failed to restore their original order.But ...The Scroll Painting by Zhang Shengwen was once scattered into separate pictures which were later combined into a painting scroll.In the process,the pictures failed to restore their original order.But the tradeoff and corresponding relationship between the decorative designs on the margin of the scroll offers a firm evidence for the original order of the pictures.In addition,the scroll painting is only composed of pictures which are partially overlapped and logically related in content,from which the other two standards for judging the order can be derived.Studies show that the Scroll Painting by Zhang Shengwen is complete with no loss of any pictures,and most of the pictures are in the right order,with a few of them in disorder.So the copy of the scroll made by Ding Guanpeng under the guidance of Zhang Jia,which is called Fajie Yuanlutu,failed to reflect the original work or the purpose of the painter,Zhang Shengwen,for it completely changed the original order of the pictures and added some new pictures to the painting as well as omitted some original ones.Read More
