Title: Effects of calcinations temperature on the properties of Cu/SiO_2 catalyst for hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate to ethylene glycol
Abstract: 30wt% Cu/SiO_2 catalysts were prepared by homogeneous deposition-precipitation method and characterized by BET and XRD. Effects of calcination temperature on pore structure and activities of the catalysts were investigated. The results showed that the catalyst calcined at 400℃ had the biggest surface area and more Cu~+ species on its surface, which indicated that big surface area was beneficial to dispersion of active component Cu~+ and enhancement of the catalyst activity. The conversion of dimethyl oxalate(DMO) of 100% and the selectivity to ethylene glycol(EG) of 98.67% were attained under the condition as follows: reaction temperature 205℃, reaction pressure 2.0 MPa and space velocity 1.00h~(-1).
