Title: HIV/AIDS-related knowledge and behaviors and their association with information resource among men who have sex with men in Heilongjiang province
Abstract: Objective To understand the knowledge and behavior related to HIV /AIDS,as well as their association with information resource among men who have sex with men(MSM) for effective information intervention.Methods The data were collected with anonymous questionnaire survey among MSM selected with snowball sampling method.Results Among 1 353 MSM,95.3% knew blood transmission of HIV;93.1% knew mother to infant transmission and 89.5% knew sex transmission.83.8% of the subjects had sex with male;41.9% had single male sex partner and 58.1% had multiple male sex partners.Among the subjects only 37.3% had consistent condom use(every time having sex);39.2% had occasional condom use;7.2% didn't use condom in the preveious 6 months.Resources of information related to HIV /AIDS most available were television(58.6%),followed by sex partner(51.6%),propaganda(51.0%),and internet(48.7%).Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen and imporve the availability of information resources of HIV /AIDS related knowledge among MSM for the control of the epidemic.
