Title: Expression and significance of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in preconditioning cerebral ischemia tissue of rats
Abstract: Objective: To study expression and significance of anti-apoptosis proteins Bcl-2 and Bax in preconditioning focal cerebral ischemia tissue of rats. Methods: Suture-occluded method was used to block middle cerebral artery, and preconditioning cerebral ischemia and cerebral ischemia model of SD rats was made. The volume of cerebral infarction was detected with TTC staining. The expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in front cerebral cortices and basal nuclei was observed by using immunohistochemistry method. Results: Compared with ischemia group, the volume of cerebral infarction reduced significantly (P0.01). Cells expressed Bcl-2 protein increased (P0.01), and that expressed Bax protein decreased (P0.05) in preconditioning ischemia group. Conclusion: Preconditioning ischemia could induce increase of Bcl-2 and decrease of Bax, which may be one of the mechanisms in anti-apoptosis and protection of cerebral cells.
