Title: TRILOBITE FROM UPPERMOST CHANGHSINGIAN IN ANSHUN,GUIZHOU PROVINCE
Abstract: Trilobites became extinct during the end-Permian mass extinction. However, the exact horizon at which trilobite went extinct is not clear. The trilobites reported here,Pseudophillipsia sp.,are collected from the uppermost part of the Dalong Formation at the Xinmin section of Anshun,Guizhou. They are discovered from carbonaceous mudstone interbeds of bentonites covered by marl with Clarkina meishanensis. The bentonite and marl beds can be correlated with beds 25 and 26 at Meishan D Section in Changxing,Zhejiang according to conodont biostratigraphy, indicating that these trilobites are from the event bed of the main extinction. Therefore, trilobite disappeared at least after the main extinction event in the end-Permian mass extinction.
