Title: Diagnostic Value of Fat Suppressed-Proton Density-Weighted Imaging to Knee Meniscus Injuries
Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of FS-PDWI(fat suppressed-proton density-weighted imaging) sequence in knee meniscus injuries by comparing the results of FS-PDWI and arthroscopic examination of the knee meniscus.Methods MRI and athroscopic imaging of 80 patients(88knees) were retrospectively analyzed.The meniscus injuries were classified according to the signal intensities of meniscus on MR images.Later the MRI features were compared with arthroscopic imaging which was regarded as the gold standard of the diagnosis.Results The rate of sensitivity and specificity of FSPDWI for the tear of meniscus was 94.7% and 75%.Conclusion FS-PDWI is of important clinical value in the diagnosis and review of meniscus injuries of the knee joint,which can be used as a routine method in the knee joint injury.
