Abstract: As an art of the working people, paper-cutting embodies their ideals and convictions. Over its 2000 years of development, it condenses the traditional concept of the Chinese culture. Good fortune, Prosperity, Longevity and Happiness are melodious phonological symbols in Chinese language which are created and employed in various activities by the Chinese people. This article explores the implication and symbolization of the concept of good fortune, prosperity, longevity and happiness in paper-cutting and also analyzes the close relationship between paper-cutting and life .
