Title: Pulsed anodizing process of magnesium alloys
Abstract: The pulsed anodizing process of magnesium alloy in alkaline environmentally friendly electrolyte was studied with orthogonal test. The effects of period, duty ratio, current density, temperature and anodizing time on the properties of the anodized film were discussed, and thereby the best parameters of the technics were obtained as follows:(10 ms),0.05,100 mA/cm~2 and 40 ℃,respectively. The performance, morphology, composition, structure and corrosion resistance of the oxidation film were examined by SEM,EDS,XRD and electrochemical methods. The results show that the grayish-white oxidation film is formed on the magnesium alloy by the process, which is smooth, dense and firmly adhesion to the substrate. The film has uniformly porous structure and its diameter is smaller than that of the anodized film formed by the traditional direct current(DC) ano-dizing process. The oxidation film is mainly consisted of MgO and MgAl_2O_4.The corrosion resistance and adhesion of anodized film is superior to the anodized film formed by the traditional DC process.
