Title: The differential diagnostic meaning of plasma Prickle1 level in inflammatory bowel disease
Abstract: Objective To research the differential diagnostic value of plasma Prickle1 in inflammatory bowel disease. Methods Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) was applied to evaluate plasma Prickle1 levels in patients with Crohn′s disease, ulcerative colitis and in healthy controls. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine the differential diagnostic value of plasma Prickle1 in Crohn′s disease and ulcerative colitis. Data were analyzed using SPSS 13.0. Results Plasma level of Prickle1 was significantly higher in Crohn′s disease than in healthy controls (P = 0.001) and ulcerative colitis (P = 0.001). Moreover, Prickle1 showed significant diagnostic value in distinguishing patients with Crohn′s disease from ulcerative colitis (P = 0.000). Conclusions Plasma level of Prickle1 was increased in patients with Crohn′s disease, which showed diagnostic value in differentiating patients with Crohn′s disease and ulcerative colitis.
