Its length,fineness were measured; the structure was char...Polygonum multiflorum rattan single fiber was prepared with Polygonum multiflorm rattan through degumming process of sodium hydroxide boiling. Its length,fineness were measured; the structure was characterized by microscopy,X-diffraction and ATR-FTIR; and the properties of moisture absorption and desorption were tested as well. The results showed that the average length of single-fiber is short,and the uniformity is poor; fineness is similar to conventional bast fibers,and coefficient of variation of the diameter is large. Fiber morphological structure possesses part features of both cotton and ramie fibers. Fiber aggregation structure is low in crystallinity and high in degree of orientation. Fiber molecular structure shows the fiber as a cellulose fiber. The fiber has greater bulk density than ramie fiber,with the moisture regain of 8. 22%,and moisture absorption and desorption falling between cotton and ramie.Read More
