Title: Influence by International Environment on MAO Ze-dongs Abandoning the Theory of New Democratic Society
Abstract: During the early period after the founding of the Peoples Republic of China, t here were various reasons for MAO Ze-dong to abandon the theory of New Democrat ic Society. International environment exerted significant influence on MAOs ab andoning this theory. Firstly, facing the political opposition situation by the two sides after World War II, Chinese Communist Party raised a lopsided diplom atic policy, which made MAOs theory of New Democratic Society meaningless. Sec ondly, the attitude and behavior by Soviet Union towards Chinese Revolution made it possible for Mao to abandon his theory of New Democratic Society. Thirdly, t he achievement made by Soviet and East European socialist revolution and constru ction strengthened MAOs determination to abandon the theory of New Democratic Society and to take up the transition towards socialism.
