Title: Clinical Evaluation of the Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty with Running Suture Methods
Abstract: Objective To investigate the indications and operative techniques of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with running suture methods. Methods Under local anesthesia, the operation was carried out from lateral canthus to medial canthus and then returned to the original suture point with running suture method. Results Of the 132 cases for blepharoplasty, satisfactory results were achieved in 121 cases (92%), the asymmetry between both eyes and disappearance of the upper eyelid fold occurred respectively in 7 cases (5%) and 4 cases (3%),the latter further repaired by secondary procedures. Conclusions This method is indicated in not only in young patients with thin skin of upper eyelid, but also in patients with moderate upper eyelid skin laxity and lateral protuberant upper eyelid.
