Title: Research and Implementation of Asynchronous Messaging in Object-Oriented Middleware
Abstract: With the emergence and popularization of Internet and large-scale Intranet, software systems form an open coordination software environment. Asynchronous communication mechanism is one of the indispensable mechanisms that support open coordination environment. As a kind of popular distributed middleware widely used in open coordination environment, CORBA doesn't solve asynchronous communication very well. Researches on how to provide asynchronous mechanism are hotspot. This paper presents an asynchronous model consist of callback, polling and time independent invocation mechanism based on the CORBA Messaging specification. Authors have developed the StarBus asynchronous messaging system based on the schema presented in this paper. The implementation results and initial usage shows the asynchronous model is important for the application of CORBA to large-scale open coordination environment.
