Title: BREVISCAPINE INJECTION FOR ACUTE CEREBRAL INFARCTION: AN OBSERVATION OF THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY
Abstract: Objective To assess the therapeutic efficacy of breviscapine injection in the treatment of patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI). Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with ACI were randomly divided into two groups: Treated Group(60 cases) and Control Group(56 cases). Breviscapine 50 mg plus hetastarch 500 mL, iv drip, daily, for 14 days for Treated Group. Venoruton 1.0 g plus hetastarch 500 mL, iv drip, daily for 14 days for Control Group. Other treatment was similar between the two groups. Results Total response rate was 93.33% for Treated Group and 78.57% for Control Group, the response rate of Treated Group was superior to that of Control Group (χ 2=5.31,P0.05). Treated Group was superior to Control Group after the treatment in terms of decrease of the score of neurologic function deficits and the volume of infarction, improvement of hemorheology (t=2.35-23.03,P0.05, 0.001). Conclusion Breviscapine injection is markedly superior to venoruton in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction.
