Title: To efficacy and safety of the implantation of phakic anterior chamber intraocular lens in high myopia
Abstract: Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of the implantation of phakic anterior chamber intraocular lens to correct high myopia. Methods Phakic anterior chamber intraocular lensimplantation(AC-IOL-PM)through scleral tunnel incision was performed on 92 eyes of 51 high myopic patients. The average age of patients was 28 14 years(18~45 years)old. The preoperative corrected visual acuity was 0 15~1 0.The mean preoperative spherical equivalent and astigmatism was (-14 90±1 1)D and (-1 38±0 3)D respectively. The mean diopter of IOL was (-14 82±1 33)D.Results The uncorrected visual acuity improved in all cases postoperatively, with 79 eyes (85 87%) achieving ≥0 5.After surgery, the uncorrected visual acuity improved in 63 eyes (68 48%) than the mean best corrected visual acuity(BCVA).The mean postoperative shpherical equivalent and astigmatism was (-0 54±0 37)D and (-0 67±0 14)D respectively. The average follow up was 18 months(12~30 months). No severe complications happened. Conclusions The implantation of phakic anterior chamber intraocular lens to correct high myopia is a safe, effective procedure serving as a refractive surgery. It is worth to spread due to good outcome of visual acuity, low incidence of complications, high predictability and stability.
