Title: Region of cervical lymph node dissection for differentiated thyroid carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To explore the metastasis characteristics of cervical lymph node in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma. Methods Ninety-two patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma received surgical therapy,The carcinoma and the cervical lymph node in the operation were marked and the pathological sections were observed to identify the primary foci and the metastasis region in cervical lymph node. Results There were 76 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma and 16 cases of follictalar thyroid carcinoma. The metastasis rate of cervical lymph node was 42.4%(39/92),and was 17.2%(11/64)in T1-2patients(100.0%in levelⅥ and 9.1%in levelⅣ)and 100.0%(28/28)in T3-4patients(100.0%in levelⅥ,25.0%in levelⅣ and 10.7%in levelⅢ).Conclusion The metastasis rate of cervical lymph node is higher in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The metastasis is mainly ipsilateral and commonly found in levelⅥ and levelⅣregions.
