Title: Analysis of in vivo autofluorescence spectra in early gastric cancer
Abstract: Objective To gather in vivo autofluorescence spectra of gastric mucosa and explore preliminarily the character of spectra in patients with early gastric cancer. Methods In vivo real-time autofluorescence spectra of cancer lesions and normal mucosa in 12 patients with early gastric cancer were gathered through gastroscope biopsy channel, and the autofluorescence intensity of them between the wavelength of 400 nm and 700 nm was compared. Results The autofluorescence intensity between the wavelength of 400 nm and 550 nm of cancer was significantly lower than that of normal mucosa. No significant difference in autofluorescence intensity exists between mucosa involved and submucosa involved. Conclusion That the autofluorescence intensity of early gastric cancer is lower than that of normal mucosa between the wavelength of 400 nm and 550 nm could be the character of early gastric cancer. It may have no relationship with the depth of tumor invasion in the early stage of gastric cancer.
