Abstract: More and more important is attached to listening in English language teaching.In accordance with the problems in listening comprehension,the paper mainly analyzes the ways schema theory is applied to listening comprehension teaching,and points out that in listening comprehension class,the key is evoke the students' existing schematic knowledge and create new schematic knowledge in phonetics,vocabulary and culture so that the listening ability of the students can be improved.
