Title: Comparison and Analysis on Combustion Noise of Diesel Engine with and without Turbocharger
Abstract: By measuring parameters of influencing combustion noise of a diesel engine with and without turbocharger under transient and steady conditions, the combustion noise of the engine with and without turbocharger were comparatively analyzed and the variation of combustion noise in the diesel engine with and without turbocharger was clarified. The result shows that the combustion noise of DI-diesel with turbocharger is reduced, the reduction of combustion noise of the engine with turbocharger under steady condition is more obvious than that under transient condition, the combustion noise can be better controlled at intermediate speed and middle load when the engine is turbocharged. The test result was thoroughly analyzed through the combustion chamber's wall temperature, aerodynamic load and high-frequency oscillation of combustion pressure. The difference of combustion noise of the engine with and without turbocharger is caused by the difference of the combustion chamber's wall temperature.
