Title: Clinical observation of intravenous amiodarone in patients with atrial fibrillation complicated rapid heart bate
Abstract: Objective:The efficacy of intravenous amiodarone in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF) complicated with(rapid) heart rate was evaluated. Methods:The 34 AF patients treated with rapid intravenous amiodarone of 150 mg(within 10 min),if no efficacy shown then followed by 150 mg again,if still no efficacy, again followed by 0.5~1.0 mg/min intravenous infusion for 24 h.The efficiency and side effects of amiodarone were observed. Results:The 34 patients all returned to sinus rhythm within 24 h.In the time after injected with amiodarone 30 min.1 h,6h,24 h;the(ventricular rates) of elderly group(18 cases) and non-elderly group(16 cases) respectively in order were(96.0±8.39)beats/min(bpm) vs.(98.00±8.35)bpm,(88.13±9.98)bpm vs.(86.47±8.68)bpm,(84.88±10.19) bpm vs.(82.88±8.25)bpm,(74.88±9.80) bpm vs.(78.88±7.80)bpm;they all significantly decreased then before treatment(138.58±9.15)bpm vs.(130.36±8.26)bpm(P0.01).There was no severe arrhythmia, and the therapy did not induced or worsens heart dysfunction. Conclusion:Intravenous amiodarone is effective and safe for atrial fibrillation with rapid heart rate.
