Title: GROWTH DIVERSITY AND EVOLUTION PATTERN ANALYSIS OF NET INCOME GROWTH OF FARMERS IN THE COUNTIES OF HENAN
Abstract: Based on the analysis of Statistical Yearbook of Henan from 1996 to 2007 and typical research data, the paper analyses regional differences and the evolution pattern of per capita net income growth of farmers in Henan from the time, space and space-time point of view. According to 1996-2002 and 2002-2007 annual growth rate of farmers’ net income of the 108 counties, the paper makes the cluster analysis and regionalization to achieve characteristics of the change in every type of region. Results showed that low growth rate districts of the low income of the farmers in Henan are located in the south and east of the province, where space layout is similar toY-shaped. In this region farmers’ income mainly comes from grain-growing revenue. The high growth rate areas of the low rural net income dispersed distribute in the central, northern, southern and western Henan province and close to up-built areas. The income of peasants includes grain-growing revenue and wage income of non-farming industries. Low growth rate districts of the high income of the farmers locate within the metropolitan area of Zhengzhou city, which are close to Zhengzhou city and similar to the layout of ring. The non-agricultural industry revenues account for a larger proportion of net income of farmers in these districts. High growth rate areas of the high income of the farmers locate in Zhengzhou city, where farmers income mainly originate from wage income and gradually become diversified. Differences in agricultural production conditions, geographic location and non-balanced regional development policy are the main reasons for regional differences of net income growth of farmers in Henan province.
