Title: Catalytic synthesis of n-butyl cinnamate with stannous chloride
Abstract: n-Butyl cinnamate was synthesized by cinnamic acid and n-butyl alcohol as raw material,using stannous chloride(SnCl2·2H2O) as catalyst.The effect of elements on esterification rate was studied.The optimum conditions were as follows: the mole ratio of n-butyl alcohol to cinnamic acid is 3∶1,the amount of the catalyst is 0.2 g/0.02 mol acid,temperature is 140 ℃,reaction time is 2.0 h,the yield of esterification rate may up to 92.4%.
