Title: Mechanism and empirical analysis of rural urbanization affecting farmers' income——the case of Guangdong province
Abstract: The rural urbanization affects farmers' income by improving the efficiency of agricultural production,expanding the consumer market of agricultural products,increasing non-farm employment,and driving the surrounding rural land and property appreciating.This paper has done an empirical analysis with nearly 30 years' data of Guangdong province,and the results show that there are significant positive long-run equilibrium relationship between Guangdong farmers' income and urbanization,and the province's farmers' income will grow by about 1.23% when the level of urbanization increase by 1%.Therefore,Guangdong should continue to actively promote and optimize urbanization strategy,and promote rural population shift from the rural to the urban and non-agricultural industries,which will achieve the continued growth of farmers' income fundamentally.
