Title: The experience of craniotomy clipping aneurysms by pterional approach for patients with anterior choroidal artery aneurysm
Abstract: 【Objective】 To observe the efficacy of craniotomy clipping aneurysms by pterional approach for patients with anterior choroidal artery aneurysm.【Methods】 16 cases with anterior choroidal artery aneurysm who were treated in neurosurgery of our hospital from January 2007 to December 2009 were assigned as study subjects, the clinical data of them were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were treated by pterional microscope clipping aneurysms treatment, the situation of prognosis was observed.【Results】 All aneurysms were treated by direct clipping.Patients were followed up for 3 to 6 months and the prognosis was assessed by GOS: 13 cases with good recovery(81.25%),2 case of moderate disability(12.50%) and 1 case of severe disability(6.25%),and no case of death occurred. The preoperative grading of one case of severe disability was level Ⅲ b who could not take care of himself and the right hemiparesis increased after surgery.【Conclusion】 Pterional craniotomy can reveal the anterior choroidal artery aneurysm satisfactorily,it has little brain injury and fewer complications when taking clipping operation, and can get better efficacy.
