Title: The Clinical Efficacy of Tympanostomy Tubes Combined With Endoscopic Adenoidectomy to Treat Children With Secretory Otitis Media
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of the tympanostomy tube joint endoscopic adenoidectomy treatment in the children with secretory otitis media. Methods 68 children with secretory otitis media(120 ears) were randomly selected for the study between January 2011 to October 2012, they were randomly distributed into observe group and control group by their order of admission to our hospital. Each group contained 34 cases. The control group has 34 cases who accepted tympanostomy tube treatment under microscope. The observe group has 34 cases who accepted tympanostomy tube treatment and endoscopic adenoidectomy. Observed and compared the recovery situation, complication and recurrence rate after 5 monthes to 1 year treatment. Results In observe group, the markedly effect case, effect case, no effect case were 24, 31 and 9, the total effect rate was 86%, in the control group, they were 18, 25 and 15, the total effect rate was 73.2%,( χ2) 11.400, P0.05). During 5 month to 1 year follow-up after treatment, there was no recurrent case in the observe group, but 2 recurrent cases in the control group, the recurrent rate was 5.9%, the difference of recurrent rate between two groups was significantly( χ2) 9.654, P0.05). There was 1 case of suppurative middle ear otitis in control group, none in observe group. Conclusion Tympanostomy tube joint endoscopic adenoidectomy treatment of children secretory otitis media can reduce the incidence of complication and recurrent rate.
