Title: Modified Kraft Pulping and Its Principles of Fast-Growing Softwood
Abstract: Laboratory modified kraft pulping (extended delignification) of Pinus elliottii and Pinus caribaea as well as its principles were studied. It was discovered that the modified kraft extended pulping process (MK) had a higher pulping selectivity than the conventional kraft cooking process (CK). Compared to the CK pulps, MK pulps had similar screened yield, lower rejects and higher viscosity at the same kappa number. And they showed a better tear strength at the same tensile.
