Title: Analysis of features of 320 blood transfusion earthquake victims in Deyang area
Abstract: Objective To analyse the blood transfusion features and regularity on the earthquake victims in Deyang area for providing better guidance to blood storage and clinical use.Methods To use Excel to analyse the clinical data and blood transfusion records of the 320 earthquake victims in Deyang area during May 12 and June11,2008.Results There were 149 men and 171 women in the 320 blood transfusion injured persons.The total used amount of blood was 1 442 U,the percentages of each blood type were as follows:type A 34.5%,type B 16.6%,type O 38.9%,type AB 10.0%.The used amount of whole blood was 64 U,red blood cells was 1 000 U,plasma 378 U.The rate of components blood transfusion was 95.56%.Blood transfusion patients were mainly middle-aged people,there were 95 people more than 60 years old,they used blood 427 U,accounting for 29.6%.The peak of blood transfusion was on May 13.The largest use of blood components was red blood cells and plasma.Fracture and trauma wounded had the largest amount in the blood transfusion.Conclusion Blood collection and supply agencies should find out the blood transfusion features and regularity of the front-line hospital in large-scale natural disasters in order to ensure sufficient storage and avoid wastage meanwhile.Clinicians should be familiar with the indications of blood transfusion and use every blood components scientifically,reasonably and effectively.
