Title: Urban Tourism and Modern Service Industry: An Analysis of Collaboration Mechanism
Abstract: The paper attempts to make a research on the relationship between urban tourism industry and modern service industry.With the case of the city of Shanghai,the paper draws a conclusion on the tourism product system of urban tourism industry,figures out the generative effect that the urban tourism industry imposes on modern service industry.Meanwhile,in order to understand the supporting effect the urban tourism industry exerts on the modern service industries,the paper takes the advantage of the Diamond Theory,the national competence theories established by Michael Porter,as well as the theory of relative industry cluster,and finds out the ways of the urban tourism industry and modern service industry collaborate with each other economically as well as geographically.After a thorough research on their relationship with the perspective of the science of industrial economy,the paper provides some detailed ideas and methods giving full play to the role of urban tourism industry with the purpose of to develop modern service industry successfully.The measures include establishing the clustered area for modern service industry,creating and developing group companies in modern service industry,educating talents with multi-capabilities for the use of modern service industry, accelerating the improvement of policy support for modern service industry,etc.This paper draws some conclusions: the city is an area where modern service industry centralizes,urban tourism industry has a driving force to other modern industries,while other modern industries can play an important role in supporting the development of urban tourism industry;we have to construct modern service industry concentrated districts which have some tourism functions,so we can form modern service clusters.This paper takes Shanghai city as an example to create a model of the interactive system between urban tourism and other modern service industries.This model is suitable to other urban or provincial capital cities.
