Title: Water and soil conservation effect for different types of terraces on redsoil slope land
Abstract: Based on the observed data of different types of terraces on red-soil slope land in Soil Conservation Ecological Science Technology Demonstration Park of Jiangxi Province,an analysis was made on the effect of water and soil conservation and orange growth in different types of terraces. The result shows that grass planting on terrace wall can greatly improve the efficiency of water and soil conservation and orange yield of different types of terraces.Horizontal terrace with grass planted on the wall and mound before but ditch behind can improve the water storage efficiency by 81.4% as compared with outward inclined terrace,it can also improve the effect of soil conservation by 98.2% as compared with terrace without grass planted on the wall, and the outward inclined terrace can improve the orange yield by 45% as compared with the normal terrace.Furthermore, the differences between water and soil erosion and orange yield of different types of terraces show that the crop yield is of close relationships with the amount of water and soil erosion and agricultural technologies to be adopted.
