Title: Effect of Bataine on Activities of Digestive Enzymes in Ricefield Eel, Monopterus albus
Abstract: Effects of supplement of bataine to the diets (0.0,0.5,1.0,1.5,3.0,5.0g/100g)on the activities of digestive enzymes in Monopterus albus were studied.The results showed that the activities of the four digestive enzymes increased with the increase of the betaine content in the diets, and when the betaine content in the diets increased from 1.0g/100g to 1.5g/100g or more than 1.5g/100g, the activities of the four digestiveenzymes(protease, trypsin, amylase and lipase) increased significantly.The results suggested that suitable supplement of betaine to the diets could improve the digestive capability.
