Title: Investigation of Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Methanol on Ti/nano-TiO_2-Pt Composite Electrode
Abstract: The Ti-based nanocrystalline TiO2 film electrode(Ti/nano-TiO2) was prepared by sol-gel method,and it was modified with Pt forming Ti/nano-TiO2-Pt composite electrode.The electrocatalytic activity of Ti/ nano-TiO2-Pt composite electrode and pure Pt wire electrode for oxidation of methanol was studied by the cyclic voltammetry.The results showed that the composite electrode possesses higher catalytic activity for methanol oxidation and fewer amount of CO adsorption compared with those of Pt wire electrode,it has better stability;and that the catalytic activity of the composite electrode relates to Pt loading,when the Pt loading reaches a certain value,the maximum catalytic activity can be obtained.
