Abstract: Objective To explore the efficacy of qi-yin deficiency as well as diabetic peripheral neuropathy in syndrome of blood stasis by observing the effect of modified particles nourishing qi and activating blood decoction on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods 112 cases with qi-yin deficiency as well as diabetic peripheral neuropathy in syndrome of blood stasis were randomly divided into two groups(56 cases in the treatment group,56 cases in the control group).Oral administration of modified particles nourishing qi and activating blood decoction was adopted in the treatment group;oral administration of mecobalamin tablets was adopted in the control group,500mg each time,3 times a day.The course of treatment was 4 weeks. All cases in each group were observed before and after treatment in TCM symptoms, signs,TCSS scores and changes of the nerve conduction velocity.Hepatic and renal function,ECG and blood routine, urine routines were also detected. Results The effective rate of TCM symptoms and signs for the cases in the treatment group was 75%.Compared with the control group, there was statistical significance(P0.05).The nerve conduction velocity and TCSS scores were significantly improved. There was statistical significance in the comparison of the two groups(P0.05).No obvious toxic side effect was observed. Conclusion Nourishing qi and activating blood decoction showed good safety. It can improve the TCM symptoms, signs,TCSS scores and the nerve conduction velocity of the cases with qi-yin deficiency as well as diabetic peripheral neuropathy in syndrome of blood stasis.
