Title: Advance in Research on Carbon Cycling in Wetland Soils
Abstract: Wetlands have the largest carbon storage among terrestrial ecosystems on the earth, and are estimated to contain 20% of carbon in global terrestrial ecosystems.Over 90% of carbon in wetlands was stored in wetland soils. Soil carbon cycling in wetlands largely affected global carbon cycling and also possibly global climatic changes. The interactions between carbon changes in wetland soils and responses as a sink or source of CO_2 in the atmosphere were discussed. The progresses in carbon cycling process with the main factors were viewed. Future studies on the carbon cycling in wetland soils were briefly addressed.
