Title: Experimental Study of the Mechanism of Banxiaxiexin Decoction and Its Different Ingredient Combinations on Aged Gastric Motility
Abstract: Objective:To study the mechanism of Banxiaxiexin Decoction and its different ingredient combinations on aged gastric motility.Methods:40 aged rats were divided into XinKai group, KuJiang group, GanRun group, Banxiaxiexin Decoction group and the control group randomly. Each group included 8 aged rats. XinKai decoction, KuJiang decoction, GanRun decoction, Banxiaxiexin Decoction and saline water had been given separately for 3 weeks. Then the contents of the gastric remnant rate, motilin, gastrin and nitric oxide in blood serum in each group were detected. Results:The contents of motilin, gastrin and nitric oxide in blood serum in GanRun group and Banxiaxiexin decoction group significantly increased, and the gastric remnant rate significantly decreased (P0.05 or P0.01). The contents of gastrin and nitric oxide in blood serum in KuJiang group were also significantly increased(P0.05). There was no significant difference in the gastric remnant rate and the contents of motilin between KuJiang group and the control group(P0.05). There was no significant difference in the contents of gastrin and nitric oxide in blood serum between XinKai group and the control group(P0.05). The contents of motilin in blood serum significantly decreased in XinKai group(P0.01). The gastric remnant rate also significantly increased in XinKai group(P0.05).Conclusion:The contents of motilin, gastrin and nitric oxide in blood serum in GanRun group and Banxiaxiexin Decoction group most significantly increased. The study proved that the classical decoction is scientific, rational and rigorous and GanRun herb is very important to regulate the aged gastric motility.
