Title: INFLUENCE OF AN ARTIFICIAL HEADLAND ON BATHING BEACH:A CASE FROM THE MOON BAY BEACH,LONGKOU
Abstract: The headline beach is a kind of most widely distributed coastal morphology in the world. The morphological characteristics of the beach are the result of long-term coastal erosion. Before the Moon Bay beach was built in 2005,this region is a part of the straight shoreline of the Longkou barrier-lagoon system which was under erosion and the erosion speed was 3m/a.After the two artificial headlands were built up,the cape beach turned to a state of slow deposition with a speed of 1.5m/a, and now it is under a balanced status. The positional profile measurement data collected from March 2013to January 2014shows that the volume change of Moon Bay beach is about 17m3/m.The parabolic model and Mepbay software were used for simulating the beach morphology, and the results indicate that the shape of Moon Bay beach is basically under equilibrium。
