Title: Overall evaluation of four medical and information science journals with multiple indicators
Abstract: H and G factors of 4 medical and information science journals from 2001 to 2008 were calculated according to the relative parameters covered inCNKI,China journal citation report: extended edition,andChinese academic journal report: RCCSE authority and core journals list and guide,ranked and scored,respectively.Total score of each journal was calculated and the 4 journals were ranked according to their score.The score ofChinese journal of medical library and information science was the lowest,followed byJournal of preventive medicine information,Journal of medical informatics,andMedical information.The results of this study indicate that multiple indicators can improve the accuracy in journal evaluation and the evaluation outcome is different due to the data from different resources and different journal classifications.
