Title: Esophageal Carcinoma Metastatic to Stomach:A Clinicopathologic Study of 9 Cases
Abstract: Objective To expore a more effective procedure for radical esophagestomy.Methods Esophageal carcinoma metastatic to stomach was analyzed in 9 patients.Results Four were discovered in surgery and three at autopsy,and one in FOG two year and ten mouth after esophagectomy,and one in fistulization.The metastases were located at lesser curvature in 5 cases,at gastric fundus in 3 cases and 1 case at greater curvature.Conclusion The metastatic lesions within stomach are mostly located in the gastric cardia and the lesser curvature.It is suggested that for clearance of metastatic focus in stomach and improving the radical esophagestomy effect,the operation field must be extended to the area including gastric cardia and lesser curvature.
