Title: Analysis of the Impact of Pacific SST Variations on Precipitation Predicitability in China
Abstract: The impact of Pacific SST on the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of China monthly precipitation predictability is studied utilizing the data of monthly precipitation of 160 stations in China and the Pacific SST, and the feasibility and limitation of making the mid\|and long\|range forecasts of drought or flood in China are also discussed using the Pacific SST. The results show that there are obvious spatial and temporal distribution features for the effects of SST on precipitation. From the time point of views, SST has quite a good predictability for precipitation in April and November. From the space point of views, there is teleconnection relationship between them and its contribution which is greater in Northwest China than that in East China.
