Title: The best Dose of Bupivacaine in Lumbar Anesthesia for Cesarean Section
Abstract: AIM To observe the best dose of Bupivacaine in lumbar anesthesia for cesarean section. Methods The 80 full-term puerperas of cesarean section with lumbar anesthesia were randomly divided into four groups: group A(20 cases,0.75% Bupivacaine 2.0 mL),group B (20 cases,0.75% Bupivacaine 1.5 mL),group C (20 cases, 0.75% Bupivacaine 1.2 mL) and group D (20 cases,0.75% Bupivacaine 1.0 mL).Anesthesia induction time, pain control, anesthesia level holding time, motor nerve depression,MAP and SPO2 level, the rate of headache of the pueroeras in postoperation and newborn Apgar score were compared among the four groups.Rsults There was no significant difference in the time of anesthesia inductin, the rate of headache of the pueroeras in postoperation and newborn Apgar score among the four groups. The pain control in group A was significantly better than it in group D(P0.05). Anesthesia level holding time was significantly longer in group A and in group B as compared with it in group D(P 0.01 or P0.05).Motor nerve depression was significantly lighter in group C and in group D as compared with it in group A (P0.05 or P0.01). The incidences of side-effects were lower in group C and in group D as compared with those in group A (P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion The best dose of 0.75% Bupivacaine in lumbar anesthesia for cesarean section is 1.2mL.
